What is bodysex?
Bodysex is a transformational experience designed to help women explore and celebrate their sexuality and their bodies in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. This approach was developed 40 years ago by Betty Dodson, a renowned sex educator and feminist activist, who believed that people could benefit from learning more about their bodies, their desires, and their sexual response.
What we do:
In a Bodysex workshop, an intimate group of women gather to engage in a variety of activities, such as sharing about our personal stories around our body and orgasm, learning about anatomy and sexuality, practicing different types of touch and stimulation, and exploring various forms of sexual expression. The emphasis is on developing self-awareness, promoting positive body image and self-esteem, and fostering deeper connections with each other, releasing shame. During this workshop, you can participate in a series of guided exercises that focus on enhancing your awareness of your body, connecting with your sensuality, and embracing your sexuality in a shame-free environment.

What women are saying…
-

“I feel more alive sexually than I have since perhaps my adolescence. I had a peak sexual experience a few weeks in and I could feel my body changing- I started to feel like a woman for the first time in my life. I started to feel sexy, and sensual in this new body of mine. I moved through feelings of joy, shame, and fear of judgment to find myself empowered.”
-

“For many many years I have felt a blockage in my sexuality, within my sacral space. I blamed it on many things, however in the last year I have uncovered some traumas sitting in my body that I was not fully seeing until recently. As I uncover (or reveal) more, the more I understand why I have felt the way I have within myself for all these years. My body and my parts didn’t feel like they were fully mine. I even had trouble naming the sexual organs of my own body... I would feel numb and at many times helpless. I felt like something was wrong with me because my libido wasn’t the way other women described theirs. I didn’t feel like I fit into what it meant to be a woman. During the workshop I felt safe enough to explore the depths of my story. To think about my life from the sexual lens and every experience in my life that has brought me to where I am now. After the workshop I felt an immense weight lifted from my shoulders.”
-

“My relationship to myself has changed—I feel juicier, more activated, and confident and I’m so proud to feel this way. It has been many years in the making and this program catapulted me into the next level of my evolution, my healing. I feel more connected to my womanhood, to my soul.”
Some of the activities include:
- Sharing Circle: This is an opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings with the group, and to connect with other participants who may be experiencing similar feelings or struggles.
- Genital Show and Tell: With guided and support we each share our vulvas with each other, seeing each others diversity and beauty is a fabulous way to release shame and celebrate our bodies!
- Orgasm: You will learn the anatomy or arousal and how to experience many kinds of orgasms, working with the pelvic floor and breath, you will be guided to embrace pleasure and autonomy with your unique body.
- Mirror Work: This exercise involves looking at your Vulva in the mirror and exploring your body in a non-judgmental way. This can be a powerful way to improve your body image and self-esteem.
- Erotic Recess: Group Masturbation, is a powerful way to explore your sexuality in a safe and supportive environment. You will have the opportunity to masturbate in the presence of others without performing or interacting with anyone else.
- Vulva Casting: Celebrate your body and diversity, recieve a casting of your own to take home, beauty as art, art as healing
